Responsibilities
- Prepare sterile fields and surgical instruments for complex procedures
- Assist surgeons during operations by passing instruments and supplies
- Maintain sterile environments and enforce OR safety protocols
- Count sponges, needles, and instruments before/after procedures
- Transport patients and specimens according to hospital policies
- Operate sterilization equipment and maintain instrument inventory
- Collaborate with RNs and anesthesia teams for seamless care delivery
Qualifications
- Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) credential required
- Minimum 2 years recent scrub experience in general surgery
- BLS/CPR certification from AHA or equivalent
- Knowledge of sterile processing and HIPAA compliance
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift 25+ lbs
- Strong attention to detail and critical thinking skills
- Experience with electronic health records (EHR) systems
- Graduate of accredited surgical technology program
