Responsibilities
- Prepare operating rooms with sterile instruments, equipment, and supplies according to surgical protocols
- Assist surgeons during procedures by passing instruments, sutures, and sterile supplies
- Maintain sterile fields throughout surgical procedures and enforce aseptic techniques
- Count sponges, needles, and instruments before and after operations to prevent retention
- Transport patients to and from operating rooms while monitoring vital signs
- Manage inventory of surgical supplies and sterilization equipment
- Document procedural details accurately in electronic health records
Qualifications
- Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) or Tech in Surgery - Certified (TS-C) credential required
- Minimum 2 years of recent surgical tech experience in hospital or ambulatory surgery center
- Current BLS certification from American Heart Association
- Knowledge of sterile processing and surgical instrumentation standards
- Ability to work efficiently in fast-paced, high-pressure environments
- Strong attention to detail and exceptional manual dexterity
