Responsibilities
- Accurately prepare, label, and dispense prescription medications under pharmacist supervision
- Manage inventory control including ordering, receiving, and tracking controlled substances
- Process insurance claims and verify patient eligibility for prescription coverage
- Provide exceptional customer service by answering medication inquiries and resolving concerns
- Maintain strict compliance with HIPAA, DEA, and pharmacy board regulations
- Utilize pharmacy software (e.g., Omnicell, QS1) for prescription processing and documentation
- Collaborate with healthcare team to ensure seamless patient care coordination
Qualifications
- Active Texas Pharmacy Technician license required
- Prior retail or hospital pharmacy experience preferred
- Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPhT) certification strongly preferred
- Proficiency in pharmacy dispensing systems and inventory management
- Strong attention to detail with accuracy in medication preparation
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment
- Basic computer skills with proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
