Responsibilities
- Prepare operating rooms by sterilizing equipment and arranging sterile instruments
- Assist surgeons during procedures by passing instruments and maintaining sterile fields
- Count surgical supplies and equipment before and after procedures
- Provide direct patient care including positioning, draping, and wound closure assistance
- Manage surgical inventory and equipment maintenance
- Adhere to strict infection control protocols and safety standards
- Collaborate with surgical teams to ensure efficient procedures
Qualifications
- Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) or equivalent certification required
- Minimum 2 years of recent OR experience in hospital setting
- Knowledge of sterile processing and surgical instrumentation
- Current BLS certification
- Ability to stand for extended periods and handle physically demanding tasks
- Strong attention to detail and critical thinking skills
- Excellent communication and teamwork abilities
- Must be able to work flexible shifts including weekends and on-call
