Responsibilities
- Prepare sterile fields and surgical instruments for complex procedures
- Assist surgeons during operations with instrument passing and wound exposure
- Maintain sterile environments through strict aseptic techniques
- Manage surgical inventory and equipment sterilization protocols
- Coordinate with anesthesia and nursing teams for seamless case flow
- Document procedures accurately in electronic health records
Qualifications
- Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) credential required
- Minimum 3 years of scrub experience in orthopedic or neurosurgery
- Current BLS certification
- Associates degree in Surgical Technology or related field
- Proficiency in sterile processing and sterilization validation
- Ability to work 12-hour shifts including weekends and on-call
- Strong knowledge of OSHA and AORN standards
