Responsibilities
- Prepare operating rooms and sterile fields with precision and adherence to safety protocols
- Assist surgeons during complex procedures including orthopedic, neuro, and cardiovascular surgeries
- Maintain sterile environments and manage surgical instrumentation throughout procedures
- Coordinate with anesthesia and nursing teams to ensure seamless surgical workflow
- Document surgical counts and equipment usage accurately per regulatory standards
- Participate in continuous quality improvement initiatives for surgical safety
Qualifications
- Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) or equivalent certification required
- Minimum 3 years of recent experience in Level 1 trauma center or specialty surgical services
- Expertise in complex surgical instrumentation and equipment handling
- Current BLS certification and ability to obtain ACLS within 90 days
- Strong knowledge of sterile processing and infection control protocols
- Exceptional attention to detail and ability to perform under pressure
