Responsibilities
- Prepare operating rooms and sterile fields before surgical procedures
- Assist surgeons during operations by passing instruments and supplies
- Maintain sterile environments and implement infection control protocols
- Count surgical instruments and supplies before and after procedures
- Transport patients and specimens safely and efficiently
- Assist with sterilization and processing of surgical equipment
- Document procedural activities accurately in electronic health records
Qualifications
- Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) credential required
- Current BLS/CPR certification
- Minimum 1 year recent surgical tech experience preferred
- Knowledge of sterile processing and aseptic techniques
- Ability to work effectively in fast-paced surgical environments
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- Excellent communication and teamwork abilities
- New Mexico Surgical Tech license (or ability to obtain immediately)
