Responsibilities
- Direct Patient Care: Assist patients with activities of daily living (bathing, dressing, grooming) and personal hygiene under the supervision of nursing staff.
- Vital Signs Monitoring: Accurately measure and record patient vital signs, including blood pressure, pulse, temperature, and respiration rates.
- Assistance with Mobility: Safely transfer and reposition patients using proper body mechanics and assistive devices.
- Communication: Effectively communicate patient status and concerns to RNs and physicians to ensure continuity of care.
- Environmental Maintenance: Maintain a clean, safe, and orderly environment for patients and staff.
- Record Keeping: Document patient care activities and changes in condition in the electronic health record (EHR).
Qualifications
- Certification: Current and valid CNA or STNA (State Tested Nurse Aide) certification in Texas.
- License: Active Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.
- Experience: Minimum of 1 year of experience in a hospital or acute care setting preferred.
- Skills: Strong interpersonal and communication skills with a patient-centered approach.
- Physical Stamina: Ability to stand, walk, and lift patients as needed.
