Responsibilities
- Provide direct patient care and assistance with daily living activities, such as bathing, dressing, and grooming.
- Monitor patient health status by observing symptoms, reactions, and treatments.
- Record vital signs, fluid intake/output, and patient information accurately in medical records.
- Assist patients with mobility using wheelchairs, walkers, or assistive devices.
- Communicate effectively with patients, families, and the interdisciplinary healthcare team.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized patient environment.
- Respond promptly to patient calls and emergency situations following protocol.
Qualifications
- Current, unencumbered Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) license in the state of Virginia.
- CPR certification (BLS) required or willingness to obtain.
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively in a team setting.
- Demonstrated compassion and a genuine interest in geriatric or acute care nursing.
- Physical stamina to stand for long periods and assist patients with mobility.
- Reliable transportation to and from work.
