Responsibilities
- Provide Direct Patient Care: Assist residents with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) including bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting in a respectful and dignified manner.
- Vital Signs Monitoring: Accurately measure and record vital signs such as blood pressure, pulse, temperature, and respiration rates as directed by the Registered Nurse.
- Assist with Mobility: Help patients move safely between bed and chair, utilize walkers or wheelchairs, and prevent falls in the facility.
- Meal Assistance: Serve meals, assist with feeding patients who require it, and monitor dietary intake and preferences.
- Communication: Report changes in resident behavior, mood, or physical condition to the nursing staff immediately to ensure timely intervention.
- Cleanliness & Safety: Maintain a clean, orderly, and safe environment for residents, including changing linens and maintaining infection control standards.
Qualifications
- Education: High School Diploma or GED required.
- Licensure: Active Texas Nurse Aide (CNA) certification or enrollment in a state-approved CNA training program with graduation imminent.
- Certifications: Basic Life Support (BLS) certification preferred; CPR certification is a plus.
- Communication: Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to interact effectively with patients, families, and medical staff.
- Physical Ability: Ability to lift, push, and pull patients and equipment (up to 50 lbs) and stand for extended periods.
- Compassion: A genuine desire to help others and a patient-centered approach to care.
