Responsibilities
- Patient Care: Provide direct patient care and assistance with activities of daily living (ADLs) such as bathing, dressing, and grooming.
- Vital Signs: Monitor and accurately record patient vital signs, including blood pressure, temperature, pulse, and respiration rates.
- Mobility Support: Assist patients with mobility issues, including transferring to and from beds, wheelchairs, and walkers, ensuring safety at all times.
- Medication & Documentation: Administer prescribed medications and treatments under the supervision of RNs and LPNs; maintain detailed and timely patient records.
- Environment: Maintain a clean, sanitized, and therapeutic environment in accordance with facility protocols and infection control standards.
- Communication: Effectively communicate changes in patient condition to the nursing staff and report any emergencies immediately.
Qualifications
- Licensure: Active and unencumbered New York State CNA license required.
- Certification: Current Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers certification.
- Experience: Previous experience in a hospital, nursing home, or home health setting is preferred.
- Skills: Strong interpersonal communication skills and the ability to work well in a fast-paced team environment.
- Physical Requirements: Ability to lift, push, and pull patients weighing up to 250 lbs; sufficient visual, auditory, and manual dexterity to perform essential job functions.
