Responsibilities
- Patient Care: Assist patients with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) including bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting in a respectful and dignified manner.
- Vital Signs: Monitor and record patient vital signs, including blood pressure, temperature, pulse, and respiration rates, reporting any abnormalities to the nursing staff immediately.
- Hygiene & Safety: Maintain a clean, safe, and sanitary environment for patients, ensuring linens are changed and equipment is sanitized.
- Documentation: Accurately document patient care activities, behaviors, and changes in condition in electronic health records (EHR) as required.
- Communication: Effectively communicate with patients, families, and the interdisciplinary healthcare team to ensure continuity of care.
- Emergency Response: Respond promptly to patient calls and assist in emergency situations following established protocols.
Qualifications
- Certification: Current State Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) license (CNA1/CNA2) required.
- Education: High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
- Training: Current Basic Life Support (BLS) and Basic Arrhythmia (if applicable) certifications.
- Experience: Minimum of 1 year of experience in a hospital or long-term care setting preferred.
- Skills: Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to work well under pressure.
- Physical Requirements: Ability to lift, push, and pull patients weighing up to 250 lbs; ability to stand and walk for extended periods.
