Responsibilities
- Provide direct patient care, including assistance with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) such as bathing, dressing, and grooming.
- Monitor and record patient vital signs, including blood pressure, temperature, and pulse.
- Assist with mobility and transfer patients safely to and from beds, wheelchairs, or stretchers.
- Collaborate with registered nurses and other healthcare staff to implement patient care plans.
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation of patient care and observations.
- Ensure a clean, safe, and organized environment for patients and staff.
Qualifications
- Certification as a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) required by the State of DC.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association.
- Previous experience in a hospital or long-term care setting preferred.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced healthcare environment.
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation (often required for home health roles).
