Responsibilities
- Provide direct patient care and assistance with activities of daily living (ADLs) such as bathing, dressing, and grooming.
- Monitor and accurately record vital signs, including blood pressure, temperature, pulse, and respiration rates.
- Assist patients with mobility, transfers, and walking using proper body mechanics and assistive devices.
- Administer prescribed medications and treatments under the supervision of a registered nurse.
- Document patient progress, changes in condition, and care provided in electronic health records (EHR).
- Communicate effectively with patients, families, and the interdisciplinary healthcare team.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and sanitized patient environment in accordance with infection control protocols.
Qualifications
- Current and active CNA certification issued by the State of California.
- CPR/BLS (Basic Life Support) certification required (ACLS preferred).
- Previous experience in a long-term care, hospital, or home health setting is preferred.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills with a focus on patient-centered care.
- Physical stamina to lift and move patients up to 50 lbs and stand for extended periods.
- Flexibility to work varying shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
