Responsibilities
- Assist patients with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs), including bathing, dressing, and grooming.
- Monitor and record patient vital signs, such as blood pressure, pulse, and temperature.
- Communicate effectively with nursing staff and physicians regarding patient conditions and changes in status.
- Ensure a clean, safe, and comfortable environment for all patients according to infection control protocols.
- Provide emotional support and companionship to patients and their families during their hospital stay.
- Document patient care accurately in electronic health records (EHR) systems.
- Administer medication as directed by the RN, following strict safety guidelines.
Qualifications
- Current, unencumbered Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) license in the state of Ohio.
- CPR/BLS certification (Basic Life Support) from the American Red Cross or AHA is required.
- High school diploma or GED equivalent.
- Previous experience in a hospital or long-term care setting is preferred but not always required.
- Strong compassion, patience, and excellent communication skills.
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods and lift up to 50 lbs as needed.
