Responsibilities
- Provide direct patient care, including bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting assistance.
- Monitor and record patient vital signs (blood pressure, temperature, pulse) and report abnormalities to nursing staff.
- Assist with patient mobility and transfers using proper body mechanics and transfer equipment.
- Prepare patient rooms and maintain a clean, safe, and sanitized environment.
- Communicate effectively with patients, families, and the healthcare team regarding patient status and needs.
- Administer medication and treatments as directed by the RN or LPN.
- Document patient care activities and observations accurately in electronic health records (EHR).
Qualifications
- Current and active California CNA license (State Certified Nursing Assistant certification).
- CPR/BLS (Basic Life Support) certification from the American Heart Association.
- High school diploma or GED equivalent required.
- Previous experience in a hospital, nursing home, or assisted living facility is preferred.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills with a focus on patient empathy.
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 lbs as required by the job.
- Reliable transportation and ability to pass a background check and drug screening.
