Responsibilities
- Provide high-quality direct patient care, including assistance with bathing, dressing, and personal hygiene.
- Monitor and record vital signs, including blood pressure, pulse, and temperature, reporting any abnormalities to the RN.
- Assist patients with mobility, transfers, and ambulation to ensure maximum safety and comfort.
- Document patient care activities, symptoms, progress, and changes in condition accurately and in a timely manner.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and orderly patient environment.
- Communicate effectively with patients, families, and the interdisciplinary healthcare team.
- Administer medications and treatments as directed by the Registered Nurse.
Qualifications
- Current, unencumbered Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) license in the State of Illinois.
- Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) required.
- Previous experience in a hospital, nursing home, or home health setting is preferred.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills with a focus on patient advocacy.
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a multidisciplinary team.
- Compassionate, patient-centered approach to care with a high degree of emotional intelligence.
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods and lift patients up to 50 lbs.
