Responsibilities
- Provide direct patient care, assisting with daily living activities such as bathing, dressing, and grooming.
- Monitor and accurately record vital signs, including blood pressure, temperature, pulse, and respiration rates.
- Assist patients with mobility, transfers, and positioning using proper body mechanics and assistive devices.
- Prepare and serve meals according to prescribed dietary plans and monitor food intake.
- Document patient care activities, symptoms, and responses to treatment in electronic health records.
- Collaborate effectively with the nursing staff and multidisciplinary team to ensure comprehensive patient care.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized patient environment in compliance with health and safety regulations.
Qualifications
- Current, unencumbered Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) license issued by the state of Illinois.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) and CPR certification is required.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills with a focus on patient advocacy.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced hospital environment with attention to detail.
- High school diploma or GED equivalent required.
- Compassionate demeanor and a genuine desire to improve the lives of patients.
