Responsibilities
- Provide direct, hands-on patient care, including bathing, dressing, and feeding assistance.
- Monitor vital signs (blood pressure, pulse, respiration) and report any abnormalities to the Charge Nurse immediately.
- Assist patients with mobility and transfers using proper body mechanics and assistive devices.
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation of patient care activities and shifts.
- Create a safe, clean, and comfortable environment for patients and visitors.
- Communicate effectively with the nursing team, patients, and families to ensure continuity of care.
Qualifications
- Current, active Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) license in the state of Michigan.
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Previous experience in a hospital, long-term care facility, or home health setting is preferred.
- Basic knowledge of medical terminology and patient care procedures.
- Strong interpersonal and verbal communication skills.
- CPR certification is a plus but not always required.
