Responsibilities
- Provide direct patient care, including bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting assistance.
- Monitor and record vital signs such as blood pressure, temperature, and pulse.
- Assist patients with mobility issues, including turning, repositioning, and transferring to wheelchairs or beds.
- Administer medications and treatments as directed by the Registered Nurse (RN) or Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN).
- Communicate effectively with patients, families, and the healthcare team regarding patient conditions and needs.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and sanitized patient environment to prevent infections.
- Document patient care activities and changes in patient condition accurately and timely in electronic health records.
Qualifications
- Current and valid Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) license in the State of Texas.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required; ACLS preferred.
- Previous experience in a long-term care, assisted living, or hospital setting is preferred but not mandatory.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills with a patient-centered approach.
- Ability to stand, walk, and lift up to 50 lbs for extended periods.
- Compassionate demeanor with a commitment to quality care.
- High school diploma or GED equivalent required.
