Responsibilities
- Provide Direct Patient Care: Assist patients with daily living activities, including bathing, dressing, and grooming, ensuring their dignity and comfort.
- Vital Signs Monitoring: Accurately measure and record vital signs such as blood pressure, pulse, temperature, and respiration rates.
- Assistance with Mobility: Help patients move, transfer, or walk using wheelchairs or walkers safely.
- Medication Support: Administer medications as directed by RNs and LPNs and document all medications given.
- Hygiene and Nutrition: Ensure patients maintain proper hygiene and assist with meal preparation and feeding when necessary.
- Documentation: Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records and logs in accordance with facility policies.
- Emergency Response: Respond promptly to patient emergencies and alert nursing staff immediately.
Qualifications
- Certification: Current, unencumbered State of Texas CNA license.
- Experience: Minimum of 1 year of experience in a hospital, nursing home, or home health setting preferred.
- Training: Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.
- Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Physical Stamina: Ability to stand for long periods, lift up to 50 lbs, and perform physical tasks.
- Compassion: Demonstrated ability to treat patients with kindness, respect, and patience.
