Responsibilities
- Patient Care: Assist patients with daily living activities, including bathing, dressing, and grooming, ensuring their comfort and dignity.
- Vital Signs: Monitor and record patient vital signs, such as blood pressure, temperature, and pulse, reporting any abnormalities to the nursing staff.
- Hygiene Assistance: Provide support with toileting, incontinence care, and turning/repositioning patients to prevent bedsores.
- Documentation: Accurately maintain and update patient care records and medical charts as required by facility protocols.
- Safety Checks: Perform routine safety checks to ensure a hazard-free environment for patients and staff.
- Communication: Communicate effectively with patients, families, and the healthcare team to ensure continuity of care.
Qualifications
- CNA Certification: Must possess a current, unencumbered CNA license in the state of Texas.
- Experience: Minimum of 1 year of experience in a clinical or long-term care setting preferred.
- Skills: Proficiency in basic nursing skills, including wound care and medication assistance under supervision.
- Physical Requirements: Ability to stand for extended periods, lift and transfer patients weighing up to 250 lbs, and perform physical tasks.
- Certifications: Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.
- Compassion: Strong empathy, patience, and a genuine desire to help others.
