Responsibilities
- Patient Care: Assist patients with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) including bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting in a respectful and dignified manner.
- Vital Signs: Monitor and record vital signs such as blood pressure, pulse, temperature, and respiration rates as directed by the nursing staff.
- Mobility Support: Safely assist patients with ambulation, transfers, and positioning to prevent falls and promote comfort.
- Hygiene & Comfort: Ensure patient rooms and personal belongings are clean and organized; provide emotional support and companionship to patients and families.
- Communication: Report changes in patient conditions or concerns to the Charge Nurse or RN immediately.
- Documentation: Accurately document patient care activities, intake and output, and any incidents in the electronic health record (EHR).
- Hygiene Maintenance: Maintain a clean, safe, and sanitary environment for patients and staff.
Qualifications
- Certification: Current and valid California CNA Certification (State License).
- Education: High School Diploma or GED required.
- CPR Certification: Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers certification must be obtained within 30 days of hire.
- Experience: Minimum of 1 year of experience in a hospital or long-term care setting preferred.
- Skills: Strong knowledge of infection control procedures and proper body mechanics.
- Interpersonal: Excellent verbal and written communication skills with a patient-centered approach.
- Physical: Ability to lift, push, and pull up to 50 lbs; ability to stand and walk for extended periods.
