Responsibilities
- Assist patients with activities of daily living, including bathing, dressing, and grooming, while maintaining their dignity and comfort.
- Monitor and record patient vital signs, such as blood pressure, pulse, temperature, and respiration rates, reporting any abnormalities to the nursing staff immediately.
- Provide emotional support and companionship to patients and their families during their hospital stay.
- Prepare and serve meals according to dietary restrictions and assist patients with eating when necessary.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized patient environment, including making beds and sanitizing equipment.
- Document patient care activities and observations accurately in electronic health records (EHR) systems.
- Communicate effectively with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare team members to ensure continuity of care.
Qualifications
- Current State of Tennessee Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) license.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association (AHA).
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Previous experience in a hospital or long-term care setting is preferred but not required.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to interact effectively with patients and staff.
- Physical stamina to stand, walk, and lift patients as needed throughout the shift.
- Ability to work flexible shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
