Responsibilities
- Assist with Daily Living Activities: Help patients with bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, and eating to ensure their comfort and dignity.
- Monitor Patient Health: Observe vital signs (blood pressure, temperature, pulse) and report any significant changes or concerns to the nursing staff immediately.
- Provide Mobility Support: Safely transfer and move patients using proper body mechanics and assistive devices, including wheelchairs and walkers.
- Administer Basic Care: Under the supervision of a Registered Nurse, assist with medication reminders, wound care, and range-of-motion exercises.
- Maintain Hygiene Standards: Keep patient rooms and common areas clean, sanitized, and organized to prevent infection and ensure a pleasant environment.
- Document Care Activities: Accurately record patient care logs, intake/output, and behavioral observations in electronic health records.
- Build Rapport: Engage with patients in a compassionate manner, listening to their needs and providing emotional support.
Qualifications
- Education: High School Diploma or GED is preferred.
- Certification: Must be willing to obtain CNA certification or currently hold a valid CNA license.
- Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication abilities.
- Compassion: A genuine desire to help others and a patient-centered approach to care.
- Physical Stamina: Ability to stand for extended periods, lift up to 50 lbs, and perform physical tasks required in patient care.
- Attention to Detail: Ability to follow strict medical protocols and maintain patient confidentiality.
- Flexibility: Willingness to work varying shifts, including weekends and holidays.
