Responsibilities
- Patient Care: Assist patients with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) including bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting in a respectful and dignified manner.
- Vital Signs: Monitor and record patient temperature, blood pressure, pulse, and respiration rates as directed by nursing staff.
- Hygiene & Safety: Ensure patient rooms and personal belongings are clean, organized, and safe from hazards.
- Communication: Effectively communicate patient needs and changes in condition to the Charge Nurse and interdisciplinary team.
- Record Keeping: Accurately document patient care activities, intake/output, and behavioral observations in electronic health records.
- Meal Assistance: Assist patients with feeding, ensuring proper nutrition and hydration are maintained.
Qualifications
- Licensure: Current, unencumbered Nebraska State CNA license.
- Training: Completion of an accredited Nursing Assistant training program.
- Certifications: Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is required; CPR certification is preferred.
- Experience: Minimum of 1 year of experience in a long-term care or hospital setting preferred.
- Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to interact professionally with patients and families.
- Physical Ability: Ability to lift, push, and pull patients weighing up to 250 lbs; ability to stand for extended periods and walk frequently.
