Responsibilities
- Monitor Patient Vital Signs: Regularly check and record blood pressure, pulse, temperature, and respiration rates.
- Assist with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs): Support patients with bathing, dressing, grooming, and eating as needed.
- Medication Assistance: Administer prescribed medications under the direct supervision of a Registered Nurse (RN) or Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN).
- Documentation: Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records and care logs in compliance with HIPAA regulations.
- Patient Mobility: Safely assist patients with ambulation and transfer techniques to prevent falls.
- Hygiene Maintenance: Ensure patient rooms and personal spaces are clean, sanitized, and organized.
- Communication: Effectively communicate changes in patient condition to the nursing staff and physicians.
Qualifications
- Certification: Current Oregon State CNA license and CPR/BLS certification.
- Education: High school diploma or GED required.
- Experience: Minimum of 1 year of experience in a hospital or long-term care setting preferred but not required for qualified candidates.
- Physical Stamina: Ability to stand, walk, and lift patients frequently throughout the shift.
- Interpersonal Skills: Strong communication skills and a genuine, empathetic demeanor toward patients and families.
- Attention to Detail: Ability to follow instructions precisely and maintain strict confidentiality.
- Teamwork: Must work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary healthcare team.
