Responsibilities
- Assist patients with activities of daily living (ADLs) including bathing, dressing, and grooming in a respectful and dignified manner.
- Monitor and record vital signs such as blood pressure, temperature, pulse, and respiration rates accurately.
- Provide emotional support and companionship to patients and their families during their stay.
- Assist with mobility and transfers using proper body mechanics and assistive devices.
- Document patient care plans, intake data, and changes in condition in the electronic medical record (EMR).
- Communicate effectively with the nursing staff, physicians, and interdisciplinary team members.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and sanitized environment for residents and visitors.
Qualifications
- Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) license required in the state of California.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification (or willingness to obtain).
- Strong interpersonal and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to stand for extended periods and perform physical tasks as required by the role.
- Compassionate demeanor with a focus on patient-centered care.
- Flexibility to work varying shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
- High school diploma or GED preferred.
