Responsibilities
- Perform initial patient assessments using standardized triage protocols
- Collect and document patient histories, symptoms, and vital signs
- Prioritize patients based on medical urgency using ESI scale
- Communicate effectively with physicians, nurses, and ancillary staff
- Maintain accurate electronic health records (EHR) documentation
- Provide education to patients regarding care pathways and resources
- Collaborate with emergency department leadership on process improvements
Qualifications
- Active RN license in New Jersey (or willingness to obtain immediately)
- BSN degree or enrollment in accredited nursing program
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification (or ability to obtain within 30 days)
- Strong critical thinking and decision-making abilities
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to remain calm under pressure in fast-paced environments
