Responsibilities
- Direct Patient Care: Assist patients with activities of daily living such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting with dignity and respect.
- Vital Signs Monitoring: Accurately measure and record patient vital signs, including blood pressure, temperature, pulse, and respiration.
- Hygiene & Comfort: Ensure patients remain clean, comfortable, and safe at all times, including proper skin care and positioning.
- Communication: Report any changes in a patient's condition, mood, or behavior immediately to the Registered Nurse or case manager.
- Documentation: Maintain accurate, up-to-date medical records and logs of care provided during shifts.
- Assistance: Support patients with meal preparation, mobility assistance, and transportation to medical appointments.
Qualifications
- Licensure: Current and valid CNA license issued by the State of California.
- Certifications: Current Basic Life Support (BLS) and CPR certification (ACLS preferred but not required).
- Experience: Prior experience in a hospital, nursing home, or home health setting is highly preferred.
- Skills: Strong knowledge of infection control protocols and proper body mechanics.
- Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Physical Ability: Ability to stand, walk, lift, and bend for extended periods; ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
