Responsibilities
- Provide direct patient care including bathing, dressing, and grooming assistance.
- Monitor and record vital signs, such as blood pressure and temperature, accurately.
- Assist with mobility and transfers to ensure patient safety and comfort.
- Administer medications and treatments as directed by licensed nursing staff.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and sanitary environment for patients.
- Communicate effectively with patients, families, and the healthcare team regarding patient status.
- Document patient care activities and changes in condition in electronic health records.
Qualifications
- Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) license valid in New York State.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.
- Previous experience in a long-term care or hospital setting preferred.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to stand, walk, and lift up to 50 lbs frequently.
- Compassionate demeanor with a patient-centered approach.
- Reliable transportation to and from work.
