Responsibilities
- Monitor and record patients' vital signs, such as blood pressure, temperature, and pulse, ensuring accuracy and prompt reporting to the nursing staff.
- Assist patients with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs), including bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility support in a respectful and dignified manner.
- Provide emotional support and companionship to patients, fostering a comforting environment during the night shift.
- Administer medications and treatments according to established protocols and physician orders under supervision.
- Document patient care activities, changes in condition, and response to treatments in the electronic health record (EHR) system.
- Collaborate effectively with the interdisciplinary team to ensure continuity of care and optimal patient outcomes.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized patient environment, adhering to infection control standards.
Qualifications
- Current and active Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification in the state of Texas.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association (AHA).
- Strong communication skills with the ability to interact compassionately with patients and families.
- Ability to work rotating night shifts, holidays, and weekends as required by the department.
- Physical stamina to perform heavy lifting, standing for extended periods, and assisting with patient transfers.
- Previous experience in a hospital or long-term care setting is preferred but not always required for exceptional candidates.
