Responsibilities
- Provide direct patient care, including bathing, dressing, and grooming, to ensure patient comfort and dignity.
- Monitor and record vital signs, such as blood pressure, pulse, and temperature, reporting any abnormalities to the nursing staff immediately.
- Assist patients with mobility and transfers, using proper body mechanics and equipment to prevent injury.
- Administer medications and treatments as directed by licensed nurses, adhering to strict safety protocols.
- Communicate effectively with patients, families, and the healthcare team to provide comprehensive care updates.
- Maintain a clean, sanitized, and safe environment in accordance with health department regulations.
Qualifications
- Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) license required by the State of Nebraska.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
- Previous experience in a hospital or long-term care facility is preferred but not required.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Compassionate, patient, and detail-oriented approach to care.
- Ability to work weekends (Saturday and Sunday) and holidays as scheduled.
