Responsibilities
- Provide direct patient care, including bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting assistance.
- Monitor and record vital signs (blood pressure, temperature, pulse) and report any abnormalities to the nursing staff immediately.
- Assist with ambulation, transfers, and positioning to ensure patient safety and comfort.
- Maintain a clean, sanitized, and organized patient environment in accordance with health and safety regulations.
- Communicate effectively with residents, their families, and the interdisciplinary healthcare team.
- Assist with light meal preparation and ensure proper nutrition and hydration for patients.
- Document daily care activities and patient observations accurately in electronic health records.
Qualifications
- Current and valid New Mexico State CNA License required.
- CPR/BLS (Basic Life Support) Certification from the American Heart Association is mandatory.
- Previous experience in long-term care, assisted living, or a hospital setting is preferred.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills with a focus on empathy and patient advocacy.
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 lbs as necessary.
- Reliable transportation and availability for flexible shifts, including weekends and holidays.
