Responsibilities
- Patient Monitoring: Observe, record, and report patient symptoms, changes in condition, and overall emotional and physical needs to the nursing team.
- Personal Care: Assist patients with activities of daily living (ADLs) including bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting.
- Vital Signs: Accurately measure and record vital signs such as blood pressure, pulse, temperature, and respiration rates.
- Hygiene & Nutrition: Serve meals and assist patients with feeding, ensuring proper nutrition and hydration.
- Assistance: Turn or reposition bedridden patients to prevent bedsores.
- Communication: Communicate with patients and families regarding care plans and daily progress.
- Documentation: Maintain accurate and up-to-date medical records and patient charts.
Qualifications
- Certification: Current Texas State Certification (CNA) required.
- Experience: Minimum of 1 year of clinical experience in a hospital or skilled nursing facility setting preferred.
- Training: Current BLS (Basic Life Support) certification and CPR certification.
- Skills: Strong interpersonal and communication skills; ability to work well in a fast-paced environment.
- Compassion: Genuine passion for patient care and a positive, empathetic attitude.
- Physical Stamina: Ability to stand, walk, lift, and bend for extended periods.
