Responsibilities
- Personal Care: Assist clients with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) including bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting with dignity and respect.
- Medication Management: Remind clients to take prescribed medications on time and report any changes in condition to the nursing supervisor.
- Companionship: Provide emotional support and engage in conversation to reduce feelings of isolation and loneliness for clients.
- Light Housekeeping: Maintain a clean, safe, and organized living environment for clients, including meal preparation and light laundry.
- Mobility Assistance: Help clients move safely around their home and provide transportation to medical appointments or errands.
- Documentation: Accurately document daily care logs, vital signs, and client progress in compliance with company policies.
- Crisis Management: Respond promptly to client emergencies and follow established safety protocols.
Qualifications
- Education: High school diploma or GED required; CNA or PCA certification is highly preferred.
- Experience: Previous experience in home health, hospice, or long-term care is a plus but not always required for compassionate candidates.
- License: Valid driver's license and access to a reliable vehicle (if driving is part of the role).
- Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills to interact effectively with patients and families.
- Physical Stamina: Ability to lift, bend, stand, and walk for extended periods while assisting clients.
- Clean Background: Ability to pass a criminal background check and drug screening.
- Compassion: Genuine passion for helping others and maintaining a positive, patient demeanor.
