Responsibilities
- Provide personal care assistance including bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility support
- Prepare nutritious meals and assist with feeding as needed
- Administer prescribed medications and monitor vital signs accurately
- Light housekeeping duties including laundry, tidying, and meal cleanup
- Transport clients to medical appointments and social activities
- Document care activities and maintain detailed client records
- Comply with all DC health regulations and agency protocols
- Provide companionship and emotional support to combat loneliness
Qualifications
- Minimum 1 year professional home health aide or caregiver experience
- Current DC Home Health Aide certification (or willingness to obtain)
- CPR and First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain)
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation
- Ability to lift 50 pounds and perform physical tasks
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Trustworthy background with clean criminal record
- Fluency in English (Spanish bilingual preferred)
