Responsibilities
- Greet patients and prepare them for examination, ensuring a welcoming environment.
- Record patient medical history, symptoms, and vital signs accurately.
- Assist physicians and advanced practice providers during clinical procedures.
- Perform basic laboratory tests, EKGs, and prepare specimens for analysis.
- Manage electronic medical records (EMR) and handle insurance verification/billing.
- Maintain cleanliness and sterilization of medical equipment and exam rooms.
- Administer medications and injections as directed by licensed providers.
Qualifications
- Graduate of an accredited Medical Assistant program.
- Current CMA (Certified Medical Assistant) or RMA (Registered Medical Assistant) certification.
- CPR/BLS certification from the American Heart Association.
- Strong computer literacy and experience with EMR systems (e.g., Epic, AthenaHealth).
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 25 lbs.
- Reliable transportation and valid ID in the State of Texas.
