Responsibilities
- Provide direct patient care in acute care settings including ICU, ER, and Med-Surg units
- Administer medications, treatments, and interventions per physician orders
- Monitor patient vital signs and document clinical progress in EMR systems
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to develop and implement care plans
- Ensure compliance with JCAHO, OSHA, and facility-specific protocols
- Assess patient needs and provide education to patients/families
- Manage emergency situations with calm professionalism
Qualifications
- Active Louisiana RN license (compact license preferred)
- Minimum 1 year acute care experience in assigned specialty
- BLS/ACLS certification (PALS required for pediatric roles)
- Proficiency in electronic medical documentation systems
- Ability to adapt quickly to diverse clinical environments
- Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
- Flexibility to work varied shifts including nights, weekends, and holidays
