Responsibilities
- Assist the dentist during examinations, procedures, and surgeries with precision and efficiency.
- Prepare treatment rooms, select and arrange instruments, and ensure proper sterilization protocols are followed.
- Take and develop digital and conventional X-rays, as well as intraoral images.
- Educate patients on proper oral hygiene techniques and post-operative care instructions.
- Manage inventory of dental supplies and materials.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records and charts.
- Answer phone calls, schedule appointments, and greet patients warmly upon arrival.
Qualifications
- Certification from an accredited dental assisting program.
- Current Virginia Dental Assistant License (VDA) or in the process of obtaining.
- CPR/BLS certification (American Heart Association).
- Previous experience in a general dentistry setting is preferred.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to work well in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Detail-oriented with a strong commitment to patient safety and comfort.
