Responsibilities
- Assist dentists during complex procedures including restorative, cosmetic, and surgical treatments
- Perform precise dental radiography and ensure proper infection control protocols
- Manage patient education on oral hygiene and post-treatment care instructions
- Prepare treatment rooms, sterilize instruments, and maintain inventory of dental supplies
- Handle digital charting and practice management software (Epic, Dentrix)
- Coordinate patient flow and ensure seamless appointment transitions
- Assist in emergency situations with calm professionalism and efficiency
Qualifications
- Current Oregon Dental Assistant certification or DANB certification
- Minimum 2 years of clinical experience in general dentistry
- Proficiency in dental radiography techniques (bitewings, panorex, periapicals)
- Strong knowledge of HIPAA compliance and patient confidentiality
- Excellent communication skills with diverse patient populations
- CPR/BLS certification maintained
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
- Experience with digital impressions and CAD/CAM systems preferred
