Responsibilities
- Prepare patients for examinations and procedures, including sterilizing instruments and setting up trays
- Assist dentists during complex procedures including restorative, surgical, and orthodontic treatments
- Take and develop dental radiographs (X-rays) with precision and care
- Maintain accurate patient records and digital charting using Dentrix software
- Manage inventory ordering and ensure optimal stock levels of dental supplies
- Provide chairside assistance with expanded functions under dentist supervision
- Delicate post-operative instructions and follow-up care coordination
Qualifications
- Current Missouri Dental Assistant certification or DANB certification required
- Minimum 2 years clinical experience in general or cosmetic dentistry
- Proficiency in digital radiography and intraoral cameras
- Strong knowledge of infection control protocols (OSHA/CDC standards)
- Exceptional communication skills and ability to put patients at ease
- Experience with Dentrix Eaglesoft practice management software
- CPR/BLS certification from AHA or Red Cross
- High school diploma or equivalent required
