Responsibilities

  • Assist dentists during clinical procedures including exams, fillings, extractions, and restorative treatments
  • Prepare treatment rooms, sterilize instruments, and maintain strict infection control protocols
  • Take and develop dental radiographs (X-rays) with precision and care
  • Manage patient scheduling, recall systems, and digital charting using Eaglesoft software
  • Provide chairside assistance and comfort measures to anxious patients
  • Inventory management and ordering of dental supplies and materials
  • Train and mentor new dental assistants on office protocols and best practices

Qualifications

  • Current Louisiana Dental Assistant certification or DANB certification required
  • Minimum 2 years of clinical experience in a general dental practice
  • Proficiency in digital radiography and infection control procedures
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with ability to build rapport with diverse patients
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment
  • CPR certification and BLS training (or willingness to obtain within 30 days)
