Responsibilities
- Assist the lead dentist and hygienists during examinations and procedures, ensuring patient comfort and safety.
- Prepare treatment rooms and sterilize instruments using strict infection control protocols.
- Take and develop dental X-rays (radiographs) and intraoral images accurately.
- Manage patient records, including updating medical histories and maintaining accurate treatment logs.
- Instruct patients on proper oral hygiene techniques and post-operative care instructions.
- Perform coronal polishing and other chairside assisting duties as directed by the doctor.
- Maintain a welcoming and organized front desk area when not chairside assisting.
Qualifications
- Graduation from an accredited Dental Assisting program.
- Certification (CDA) or registration with the Texas State Board of Dental Examiners.
- Minimum of 1-2 years of clinical experience in a general dentistry setting preferred.
- Strong knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, and sterilization techniques.
- Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively with patients of all ages.
- Ability to multitask and thrive in a fast-paced, high-volume environment.
- Valid CPR and BLS certification.
