Responsibilities

  • Assist the lead dentist and hygienists during examinations and procedures, ensuring patient comfort and safety.
  • Prepare treatment rooms and sterilize instruments using strict infection control protocols.
  • Take and develop dental X-rays (radiographs) and intraoral images accurately.
  • Manage patient records, including updating medical histories and maintaining accurate treatment logs.
  • Instruct patients on proper oral hygiene techniques and post-operative care instructions.
  • Perform coronal polishing and other chairside assisting duties as directed by the doctor.
  • Maintain a welcoming and organized front desk area when not chairside assisting.

Qualifications

  • Graduation from an accredited Dental Assisting program.
  • Certification (CDA) or registration with the Texas State Board of Dental Examiners.
  • Minimum of 1-2 years of clinical experience in a general dentistry setting preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, and sterilization techniques.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively with patients of all ages.
  • Ability to multitask and thrive in a fast-paced, high-volume environment.
  • Valid CPR and BLS certification.
