Responsibilities
- Assist dentists during procedures including chairside support, instrument preparation, and patient monitoring
- Perform diagnostic imaging (X-rays) and maintain accurate patient records
- Prepare treatment rooms and sterilize equipment using OSHA-compliant protocols
- Manage inventory ordering and restock supplies for clinical operations
- Provide post-procedure instructions and educate patients on oral hygiene
- Coordinate with front desk staff to optimize patient flow and scheduling
- Maintain strict infection control and safety standards
Qualifications
- Accredited Dental Assistant certification or equivalent training (CODA accredited)
- Minimum 2 years of clinical experience in a dental practice
- Current CPR/BLS certification
- Proficiency in dental imaging software (e.g., Dexis, Schick)
- Strong knowledge of HIPAA compliance and patient confidentiality
- Exceptional interpersonal skills with diverse patient populations
- Ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment
- Valid Louisiana dental radiology license
