Responsibilities
- Prepare patients and exam rooms for dental procedures, ensuring sterility and optimal workflow
- Assist dentists during complex procedures including restorations, crowns, and orthodontic work
- Take and develop dental radiographs (X-rays) with precision and patient comfort
- Manage infection control protocols and sterilization of instruments per OSHA standards
- Handle patient scheduling, insurance verification, and digital chart management
- Provide chairside assistance with four-handed dentistry techniques
- Deliver post-procedure instructions and patient education on oral hygiene
Qualifications
- Accredited Dental Assistant program graduate or equivalent certification (CDA preferred)
- Minimum 2 years of clinical experience in a general or cosmetic dental practice
- Proficiency with digital radiography (X-ray) and practice management software (Dentrix/Eaglesoft)
- Strong knowledge of infection control protocols and OSHA compliance
- Excellent chairside assistance skills and four-handed dentistry experience
- CPR/BLS certification and current radiology license in Colorado
- Exceptional interpersonal skills with ability to manage anxious patients
- Attention to detail and ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment
