Responsibilities
- Assist dentists during procedures including restorative, endodontic, and surgical treatments
- Take and develop dental radiographs (X-rays) with proper safety protocols
- Prepare treatment rooms, instruments, and materials for patient procedures
- Manage patient education on oral hygiene and post-treatment care
- Maintain sterilization and infection control standards per OSHA guidelines
- Perform accurate charting and documentation using digital dental software
- Coordinate patient flow and assist with front desk operations as needed
Qualifications
- Current Dental Assistant certification (DANB or state-issued)
- Minimum 2 years of clinical experience in a dental practice
- Proficiency in dental radiography techniques and safety protocols
- Knowledge of HIPAA compliance and patient confidentiality standards
- CPR certification (or willingness to obtain within 30 days)
- Experience with Eaglesoft, Dentrix, or similar dental management software
- Strong interpersonal skills with ability to calm anxious patients
- Valid NJ dental radiography permit
