Responsibilities
- Patient Care: Greet patients, prepare them for exams, and assist the dentist during procedures with confidence and efficiency.
- Chairside Assistance: Hand instruments and materials to the dentist, retract oral tissues, and provide suction as needed.
- Radiography: Take and process dental X-rays (radiographs) accurately according to safety protocols.
- Infection Control: Strictly adhere to sterilization and disinfection procedures to maintain a safe clinical environment.
- Record Keeping: Maintain accurate patient records, charts, and treatment histories.
- Patient Education: Educate patients on post-operative care and proper oral hygiene techniques.
- Inventory: Monitor and order dental supplies and equipment as necessary.
Qualifications
- Certification: Graduate of an accredited dental assisting program.
- Licensing: Current DANB (Dental Assisting National Board) certification or valid Georgia state license.
- Experience: 1-3 years of clinical experience as a dental assistant is preferred.
- Skills: Proficiency in dental software (e.g., Eaglesoft, Dentrix) and knowledge of dental terminology.
- Communication: Excellent interpersonal and communication skills to interact effectively with patients and staff.
- Physical Requirements: Ability to stand for long periods, lift equipment, and perform fine motor tasks.
