Responsibilities
- Chairside Assisting: Assist the dentist during examinations, procedures, and treatments efficiently and accurately.
- Patient Care: Greet patients, explain procedures, and ensure patient comfort and safety throughout the visit.
- Radiography: Take and develop dental x-rays (X-rays) following strict safety and health protocols.
- Infection Control: Maintain strict sterilization standards and cross-infection control procedures for all instruments and equipment.
- Record Keeping: Manage patient charts, update medical histories, and ensure accurate documentation.
- Oral Health Education: Educate patients on proper oral hygiene techniques and post-operative care.
Qualifications
- Licensure: Current Dental Assistant (DA) license or Registered Dental Assistant (RDA) certification in California.
- Experience: Minimum of 1-2 years of clinical experience in a general dentistry practice preferred.
- Skills: Proficient in using dental software (e.g., Eaglesoft, Dentrix) and modern diagnostic tools.
- Communication: Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with a warm, patient demeanor.
- Attention to Detail: High level of accuracy in sterilization and record maintenance.
- Certifications: BLS (Basic Life Support) certification required.
