Responsibilities
- Assist dentists during procedures including restorative, endodontic, and surgical treatments
- Perform chairside duties: instrument transfer, suction, and patient positioning
- Take and develop diagnostic dental X-rays with digital radiography systems
- Manage sterilization protocols and maintain infection control standards
- Prepare treatment rooms, equipment, and materials for patient procedures
- Document clinical notes and update patient records in practice management software
- Provide post-op instructions and educate patients on oral hygiene
Qualifications
- Current California Dental Assistant X-Ray License (RDA or EFDA)
- CPR certification (BLS for Healthcare Providers)
- Minimum 1 year clinical experience in general dentistry
- Proficiency with Eaglesoft or Dentrix practice management software
- Strong knowledge of OSHA and dental infection control protocols
- Excellent communication skills and ability to multitask in a busy setting
- High school diploma or equivalent; dental assisting certification preferred
